Male Breast Reduction
Gynecomastia, the medical term literally meaning "woman's breast", afflicts men of all ages, although it is more common in elderly males. Drug–related gynecomastia due to steroid or marijuana use can sometimes be recurring, even after surgery is performed.
Today's technology has reduced much of the scarring that has normally been associated with gynecomastia procedures, which in the past have been highly visible. But now, a number of smaller incisions can be made around the nipple area – which not only improves the cosmetic outcome, but helps in recovery time as well.
If you are like almost 60 percent of men who feel that your overall appearance can be enhanced by a breast–area reduction, please do not hesitate to schedule an appointment for a consultation. While not all men are ideal candidates – due to obesity, excessive alcohol use, drug use including steroids, or heavy smoking – we can certainly discuss if breast–area reduction surgery is right for you.
We perform gynecomastia procedures on an outpatient basis, but you should be sure to rearrange transportation home, as well as some additional help during the first few days of recovery.
