Meet Dr. Lach

Elliot Lach, M.D., F.A.C.S. is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Surgeons who have obtained this Board Certification are not limited to cosmetic surgery of the face. They have undergone years of extensive and comprehensive training and passed the rigorous examinations and evaluations that qualifies them to perform unrestricted plastic and reconstructive surgery on the face, neck, hands, breasts, and entire body on men, women andchildren of all ages. It is important to be aware of a surgeon's credentials and to select one who is fully trained and is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) is the ONLY board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to award Board Certification in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Not all physician Board Certifications relate to plastic surgery necessarily nor are all physicians who are board certified practicing in the specialty for which they are certified.

Dr. Lach graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts and was awarded his Medical Degree in 1981 from Yale Medical School.  Dr. Lach completed his six years of residency training programs in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Hand Surgery, and Microsurgery at the Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale Medical School, Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital, and the Combined Plastic Surgery Program at Harvard Medical School.

He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Dr. Lach has been serving the communities of Boston, Metrowest, and Worcester, and Central Massachusetts for more than 25 years, making him one of the most experienced Plastic Surgeons in the area. He has held numerous academic and professional positions including president of the Massachusetts Society of Plastic Surgeons and delegate to the Massachusetts Medical Society.  He has served on the teaching, clinical, and research faculty of Harvard University and University of Massachusetts Medical Schools and has taught or mentored hundreds of medical students, residents, as well as other plastic surgeons and physician colleagues.  His work has been widely published in numerous journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as in the Encyclopedia Britannica where he published their first article on laser treatment of port wine stain birthmarks. He has been issued numerous United States and International Patents and US Trademarks and is a 20+ year volunteer military veteran of the United States Army Reserve.

Dr. Lach has consistently been selected as Best Plastic Surgeon, and Top Doctor by national selection.  He is the recipient of the Castle Connolly Medical Compassionate Doctor, and Patients Choice recognition over numerous years. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Dr. Bordier Award for distinction and lifetime service by the Society of Clinical and Medical Hair Removal.  Among his patients he is known as a dedicated and available plastic surgeon that cherishes the privilege of providing clinical care and is meticulous in his work.
Choosing a plastic surgeon who demonstrates the superior skills, integrity, and reputation for superlative results that would make you comfortable in knowing that you have made the right decision is so important.  The process should involve more than just a detailed internet search which may present more marketing hype, price teasers, and an offering of the latest unproven technology. Instead, your search should help you select an experienced surgeon who will be sensitive to your needs and who can handle that rare emergency.  You should know your physician's qualifications and credentials and only select a surgeon who is fully trained and (ABMS) board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
